Chou Dofu is stinky tofu which is very popular around Taiwan. The smell will make you feel disgusted because it smells as a cheese. Actually, when you go to at night market, you will smell that anywhere in Taiwan. Some people like stinky tofu, but some people hate that, because the smell is to strong. We joke that a smell will break air pollution. What things make this stinky smell? Stinky tofu is made with putrid vegetable and salt, and that had to ferment for months. That's why stinky tofu is one of those foods that it is impossible to let a foreigner feel good. In addition, we have many ways to cook Chou Dofu. For example, to deep-fired, to steam, etc. People who like stinky tofu usually prefer to enjoy stinky tofu’s real smell and taste. Actually, the taste is like tofu. Therefore, stinky tofu is often served deep-fired with special chilli sauce. Chou Dofu is a food which can let you feel amazed. If you try Chou Dofu, maybe you will be fascinated.
