Sailboats
A sailboat is any kind of vessel that uses wind instead of engine or physical works as its main propulsion system. This type of boat requires more than just the sail. They need a keel, that is part of the hull and goes in the center of it under the water, and also a rudder. Both in combination make the boat able to keep the desired direction, or heading, in marine terminology. The sail, usually made of Dacron, works in the same way an airplane uses a wing. The wind hits the sail on a determined angle that pushes the boat for the difference of pressure between the inside ad the outside part of it. In fact most sailboats can navigate all directions, even against the wind, but the angle on which the wind hits the sail has to be about the same. And changing the way the sails are settled can be possible thanks by the pulleys and ropes system called rigging.
